Rustic-Chic Backyard Wedding // Haylee and Chris

Haylee and Chris were a breath of fresh air! They were our first full wedding when weddings were finally allowed after quarantine and it was just all kinds of wonderful.

Bluffs and Beach by the Train Tracks

I love maternity sessions. It’s so empowering to see a woman embrace her body and share such an intimate and miraculous time of her life.

Helen was GLOWING! She brought her son and her mom to our session and it was just full of love. The San Clemente beach is one of my favorite places because of the bluffs and the train tracks. Not to mention, it wasn’t crowded at all!

A Breathtaking Engagement in the Forest
Big Bear, CA

You know that little thing called Covid-19? Yeah. Crazy story.

Once upon a time, Donna and Roger met up with me at a cafe in Pasadena. Crazy, right? Like we met for the first time, no masks or anything! Long story short, they were awesome and I hoped they’d hire me as their wedding photographer and thankfully, they did! <3

Covid happened so their scheduled engagement session got postponed, and then postponed, and then finally, on a perfect day in June, we decided to just go for it. They were actually the first engagement session we shot when we decided to slowly start opening our business back. This session? MAGICAL.

Not only was this location breathtaking, Donna and Roger were equally as marvelous. DONNA MADE HER OWN DRESS!! That yellow dress you see in these photos? Yes, she made it! Andy and I were stunned.

Donna and Roger met when her sister invited her and a group of friends to go to the 626 Night Market. They started talking and the rest is history. They already win in our books. The 626 Night Market is where you can find the best things in life!

Big Bear Family Session // Fosty Family

Let’s face it, fall is the ——-best-—— season. HANDS. DOWN. Why? Apart from the SoCal weather sort of cooling down and the seasonal festivities beginning, we get super cute family sessions like this one! When Chavon reached out to me about doing their Christmas family photos while they were up in Big Bear, I could not say no. Big Bear is gorgeous, but put the Fosty family in front of that lake backdrop and you have something special!

Don’t Jack and Henry just melt your hearts?? Mine definitely did, especially when Jack asked me if he could hold my hand while we walked to a different spot for photos. Still can’t get over how precious that was!

Lytle Creek Wedding // Melanie and Nicholas

I met Melanie and Nicholas through our session giveaway last December and soon after they asked if I could shoot their wedding, and of course I said yes! Almost a year later and here we are. This little spot in Lytle Creek is just 20 minutes away from us and it gave us all the NorCal vibes. Don’t the two of them just look breathtaking?

Southern California Superbloom Session // Rachel & David

Back in spring 2019 I so so badly wanted to shoot in the superbloom for reasons everyone probably knows of. Enter Rachel and David aka the sweetest couple. They met through Bumble and only had eyes for each other since then.

This hillside area was just magical. We literally had to cross over a stream (pictured behind them in the photo below) while stepping on these wonky logs to get to this spot. It was so worth it!

Don’t worry, we were super careful not to hurt the wildflowers and only stayed in places that were already flat or had a path.

San Diego, California

Merced and Heri’s beach view wedding was nothing short of amazing. We love when couples feel so strongly about a location. Their love for the ocean was translated into visual form when they had their engagement session at the beach and their wedding portraits and their gorgeous ceremony site that had a view of the San Diego beaches.

Their wedding was the definition of perfect California November weather - cool breeze during the day and a light chill at night!

Verdugo Adobe Wedding // Melina and Ashot

Summer Green Wedding of Two Dear Friends
Glendale, CA

“But first, highlight video!”

We were SO excited for Melina and Ashot’s wedding! We witnessed a lot of their love story first hand and were privileged to take their gorgeous engagement photos (check them out here!).

Melina is a total ball of manic energy! She is so talkative, curious, and has the most infectious laugh. She is always a pleasure to be around and will always bring a fun dynamic to conversations.

Ashot is Melina’s opposite and perfect match. He is very calm and more on the quiet side, but he has a strong wit to match Melina’s and a subtle humor. He would be the first to tell you that he wasn’t used to being the center of attention of so many people. But on their wedding day he only had eyes for Melina.

When he first saw his bride in her dress Ashot’s face lit up like Christmas morning (we captured it in slomo and it is hands down my favorite part of their wedding film!). Check out the highlights video

Their wedding day seemed to mirror their personalities. Moments of quiet expectation gave way to endless laughter and dancing. And speaking of dancing, one of the aspects of their wedding we enjoyed most were the cultural traditions they incorporated. A group of performers did a traditional Armenian dance at their reception! The couple’s families also incorporated a number of other traditions for good fortune and blessing. We always feel so blessed to capture and share in these intimate moments and to experience parts of other cultures that we might normally never see.

Baby Tea Mini Session // Bella

Garden Tea Time in Front Yard, Quarantine Style

With these strange times under quarantine, Marijo had the wonderful idea of a tea time photo shoot with baby Bella! What could be more relaxing than taking advantage of the sun coming out to witness this little one cooing and smiling without a care in the world.

Bella looks so fancy and debonair with her little tea cup (big in her hands!), home-made macarons, and a few books for some “light” reading. Photographing babies can sometimes be tough, since their mood depends on a lot of variables that change quickly. However this baby was relaxed and an absolute dream to work with. She even channeled a little bit of Hollywood star, relaxing on an elbow to have her picture taken!

We of course followed quarantine guidelines for the mini photo session. I did the lighting and assisted Marijo, who did the styling and photography. Bella’s parents were the cheerleaders and comedy act to bring out the baby’s beautiful smile.

We loved this session so much that we’re definitely gonna offer #babytea mini sessions once this pandemic is over! So if you know anyone who’d like a cute mini session, send them over our way!
